Google podcasts will be no more as of 24 June. If you’re in the USA, it’s already gone!
YouTube is part of Google, so Google is encouraging everyone to put their podcast on YouTube.
Fear not! For those of you who don’t want to be on camera, this doesn’t mean you need to start a video podcast. You can now listen to podcasts in audio format on YouTube Music. I know, confusing that podcasts are listed under “music” but hey, who am I?!
If you’re a podcaster already, make sure to remove any links to your Google Podcasts account from your website.
If you want to get on YouTube, it’s quite straight forward. Set up an account with YouTube and let your podcast hosting platform do the rest! Most podcast hosting platforms such as Buzzsprout allow you to link your podcast to YouTube.
As we say goodbye to Google Podcasts, it’s time to embrace new opportunities on YouTube. Whether you prefer audio-only content or are curious about expanding into video formats, there’s a place for you on YouTube.
